Our History
God was calling our families to a new chapter. We felt Him leading us to Kentucky with a desire to make a greater impact in the lives of young people.
We visited several properties, but the moment we drove onto what is now Camp Jabez, we knew this was where God was leading us. As soon as we left, we immediately put in an offer.
The journey wasn't easy. Months of negotiations followed, and at one point, we even walked away from the purchase. Not long afterward, we received a call from the previous owners asking to continue negotiating. Eventually, an agreement was reached, and Camp Jabez was born.
At the time, the founders were still living in Arizona. Nearly a year later, Steve and Denise packed up and moved to Kentucky with the support of Ron and Louise to begin transforming an old, run-down farm into what would become Camp Jabez—a place dedicated to changing lives for Christ.
There were no completed buildings on the property, only the vision God had placed on our hearts. It took four years of hard work, faith, and perseverance before we welcomed our first group. Then, seven years after purchasing the property in 2007, Camp Jabez hosted its very first Junior and Senior Summer Camps.
What began as rubble became God's territory—a place where thousands of lives have since been impacted, and where His work continues every day.
